Once More With Memage
(I'm sure this will be a total shock to everybody, but below the cut contains spoilers up to the latest episode of Glee. I know, I know, ye totally didn't see that one coming, did ye!)
Day 03 - Your favorite new show (aired this TV season)
So yes, surprise, surprise, it's Glee. Oh, Glee, how it doth fill my heart with glee! Some things I love most are:
1. The musical numbers. Okay, it's an obvious one, but it's true. They're amazing. I heard a couple of seconds of their cover of Bad Romance before I saw the episode, and I wasn't all that impressed, but the full number blew me away. And Idina and Lea's cover of Pokerface? Amazing! Jump, Proud Mary, the Halo/Walking on Sunshine mashup and, of course, Don't Stop Believin' are some of the most played songs on my Ipod.
2. Will. Oh Will! How I heart him. I find his hair oddly adorable. (I have a weird thing about hair!) I loved his bit in Theatricality where he was enthusing about Lady G in an "old man" fashion. Cuteness! And his geeky dancing!! Eeee! I've watched his rendition of Ice Ice Baby about 20 times and it still simultaneously makes me laugh and makes me wibble. Come to think of it, all of his raps have that effect on me. Also, when he has scenes with Emma and is all "I love you, Emma, let's make out and stuff" I can pretend he's talking about me! :D
(Plus, he is The Most Inappropriate Man in the History of the Universe(tm).)
3. The amazing guest stars. Indina has already been mentioned, but there's also Kristin C, Neil P Harris, Olivia N John... oh the guest performances! I listen to the April/Will duets daily, such is my lurve of them. (What's that you say, while listening do I pretend I'm April? I think we all know the answer to that question!)
4. Sue! Jane Lynch is amazing. She just cracks me up. Her delivery is excellent, and that curl of her lip she does when slagging Will does have me in convulsions!
5. Kurt's dad, Burt. Burt is the most awesomest daddy in the world. Every time he has a scene he reduces me to a snivelling mess. I loved his "well duh" moment when Kurt came out to him, and I love how much he loves Kurt. Him defending Kurt to Finn in Theatricality was one of my favourite moments in the serios to date. His honesty in admitting his youthful mistreatment of gay guys and the flicker of pain in his eyes at the memory. That guys like youthful!him are now the ones picking on his son. His acceptance of his former attitude being oh so wrong, and his willingness to change. Oh lord, it just kills me!
6. Will/Rachel. Oh yes, it's so, so wrong, but so, so right! Aside from the naughty student/teacher element to it (Don't Stand So Close To Me), I think they're very well suited. They both have a burning passion for music, they're both stubborn, strong willed, and like to get their own way. Rachel gets to Will more than anybody else. While (as previously mentioned) he is The Most Inappropriate Man in the History of the Univers, when it comes to her he doesn't even attempt to act the grown up. They should just get the sexin' out of their system, before all this sexual tension kills somebody!
7. Brittany. "Did you know that dolphins are just gay sharks?" <-- 'nuf said!
8. Actually, I also have to include Brittany and Santana's gay gay love. They are just too cute!
9. Did I mention my love of Will?
