I has a new fancy ryukin! <333
While I'm not 100% sure I believe my newbie is a female. I was thinking of the name Forte (after "Bass" from Megaman, Forte is his original name), but on second thought I don't think it fits. If you guys have any name suggestions, please let me know! :) It doesn't have to be something anime or Poke'mon-related (like Emmet's name is).
I think 2012 is the year I'm finally going to register to vote.
Rick Perry is such a reprehensible fool that I can't stomach the thought of that moron even coming close to being Obama's opponent in the next election. I'm not a tremendous Obama fan but I could deal with him for another two years. Perry is a bigoted dumbass with no grasp on reality outside of Texas it seems, if he thinks the world's biggest "problems" are gay people and the poor, poor repressed Christians. OH NOES.
xxxThePeachxxx said it better than I could, but I'll simply echo her words: America is not a Christian country, Perry. It never was. America was not built on religion. Christians are not repressed in the United States, but speaking as someone bisexual raised in a Christian household (and who went to a Catholic school for most of her childhood), it's fucktards like you that makes everybody else think badly of Christianity when you use your faith as an excuse to be a bigoted asshole. Keep your garbage in Texas and away from the White House. Those of us who realize that praying doesn't fix every problem, and that furthering outdated hatred of homosexuals and suppressing their rights is disgusting, don't want you there. The overwhelming amount of 'Dislikes' on your shitty campaign video says enough about that. I'm agnostic, but if Jesus really does exist, he'd be facepalming at your idiocy right now. Fuck off back to Texas with all of my disgust, you clown.
With that out of the way, the other night I watched Poke'mon - Rise of Darkrai.
I saw the ending of the movie on Cartoon Network a long long time ago, and finding the link on tumblr, decided to give it a watch. For a movie taking place in my least favorite of the Poke'mon regions (Hoenn), it wasn't that bad. The animation in the movie was still very pretty. The backgrounds and locations are very nice, and the introduction featuring all of the legendary Poke'mon (to date then, at least), was pretty cool. This movie also has the world's biggest music box, which is fucking cool. I'm not really a fan of Palkia or Dialga as legendaries but the movie made their drawn-out fight sort of interesting, although a lot of it was them repeating the same attacks over and over and Darkrai getting in the way to protect someone or something. Darkrai was the best part of the movie though, so I can see why it was named after him. The Poke'mon movies follow a pretty simple formula of Ash and his friends coming to a new area and usually getting swept up in some trouble that just happens to be occurring when they show up. It's like the Dragonball Z movies in that it's usually filled with chase scenes and lots of fighting. After the first few movies they don't really attempt to have a deeper plot anymore. It doesn't make the movies bad, just predictable. So this movie wasn't great to me, but it wasn't really bad either. I say give it a watch if you're a fan of the movies and for whatever reason haven't seen it yet.
Though there were a few plot holes, naturally--if Darkrai can speak, why didn't it just tell the humans around it what was going to happen rather than attacking them and giving them nightmares about what was yet to come, thus making them think Darkrai was responsible for the weird shit going on the first half of the film? We're never given any indication Darkrai can't speak as well as a human. It even says full sentences sometimes, it just doesn't talk very much. The best part was it constantly yelling "GO AWAY" at Palkia and Dialga when they showed up. That just made me laugh every time.
