They say children like routines. Well, D does and knows it all too well. She hates sleeping because playing together is so much more fun! So, she will not eat her food. Because she knows after she eats, it's a little playing time, reading time, pajama time (brushing teeth, etc.) and bed time. So, instead of fighting towards the end, she decides to just not eat. And oh who cares if one is starving and needs food, a flood of tears will surely get some attention and affection?! After all, one is tired AND sleepy, since who needs naps in the afternoons anymore?!
She did let us enjoy a 7 days consecutive naps in the afternoons but late night (10:30-11pm) parties!! sigh.
What's going on?!?!
We heard back from the preschools and we didn't get a spot in any of them. But we got reassured that we are sweet families and all. hrmmpphh...
And oh yes, she loves going out... and so we did...
- Saturday, 31 March, we headed to DC for the Kite Festival. It was a spur of the moment thing. We were imagining how that would be hard if we had bought a place out in the suburbs. D loved it! We didn't have a kite. However, she dug through our bag, found a post-it pad, took out one of the notes and turned it into her kite! She then got the back note (slightly thicker paper) and used that as the "kite". That little bit of difference did make a difference. It flew but not so far that it took forever her to catch it! We have a little smart girl.
The weather was also beautiful!!! The previous few days still reminded us of winter. Saturday turned out beautiful! Just needed something for when the wind blew...
- Yesterday, the cherry blossoms (the variety that's found by the DC Tidal Basin) bloomed! We have three of the trees right across the street! :) But we plan to make a trip down to see them. Saturday we plan to go see the parade and Monday D & I will have another picnic there.
- D helps N get ready in the mornings, with combing his hair, putting on his belt and tie!
- Enjoying driving the new car! We only drove it on Sunday last and are trying to find excuses to drive it this weekend!! :P It's nice to have driven a 100 miles and find that it's giving us a 46mpg and leaving 400 odd miles left before we have to fill her up!
