Ooooh. Big Bang Day. I'm watching a press conference in Geneva, and it's quite interesting. Although it took a new Scientist journalist to ask anything about the functioning of the machine itself. And now the Times just asked these joyful scientists "why bother?" Well done, Times. Tact's the thing.

Aaaand now I'm going to steal a 51 question meme from Becky_h

1. What time did you get up this morning? Just now, really. About half ten maybe.

2. Diamonds or pearls? Diamonds are shiny; pearls a interesting. I'd rather be wearing a stone than a shellfish's hairball, though.

3. What was the last film you saw at the cinema? Erm... The Dark Knight? No, actually, Hellboy II.

21. Pets? Three cats. My two old moggies just turned 11. They've been around longer than my littlest sister.

22. Any new and exciting news you'd like to share with us? One of my cousins is having a baby. But I've got so many, and we have such huge families, than someone always is!

23. What did you want to be when you were little? A vet. I went right off it when I learned I'd have to slice animals up, not just give them a cuddle and put a bandage on broken paws.

25. What is your favorite flower? Snap dragons.

26. What is a day on the calendar you are looking forward to? 15th, I suppose. I'm quite keen to get back to college. My brain is going to sleep.

27. What are you listening to right now? BBC news.

36. What was your favorite toy as a child? My bedtime bunny.

37. Summer or winter? Summer. Please? We've still got September to go, can we have a few nice days?

38. Chocolate or Vanilla? Vanilla. I like chocolate of course, but I'm a little bit picky about it. Needs to be rich and dark.

39. Coffee or tea? Don't make me pick! I've had more tea than coffee recently, but coffee is my job and it was the first practical thing I was good at.

49. How many people will you send this to? How big's my flist? All of those people.

50. How many will respond? This is a 46-question meme really, isn't it? Plus five utterly pointless questions about sending this to people.

51. Do you like finding out all this stuff about your friends? YES!

Oh, and!

When you see this, quote Douglas Adams in your journal.

"You will need to know the difference between Friday and a fried egg. It's quite a simple difference, but an important one. Friday comes at the end of the week, whereas a fried egg comes out of a chicken. Like most things, of course, it isn't quite that simple. The fried egg isn't properly a fried egg until it's been put in a frying pan and fried. This is something you wouldn't do to a Friday, of course, though you might do it on a Friday. You can also fry eggs on a Thursday, if you like, or on a cooker. It's all rather complicated, but it makes a kind of sense if you think about it for a while."
