i think this is my first livejournal posting, or any posting whatsoever with a cat in my lap! one that is purring too!!! she proceeded, right on cue to step on something on my lap that shouldn't be stepped on, ouch....and now she's doing that cat kneading thing on my leg as if she was kneading some dough for some kitty cookies...oh Booboo you're too funny.....this is the first time since wednesday night she's willingingly come to sit on my lap, probably because she hadn't seen me since april, and she's a snob, but also because i'm all she's got at home for now...she's settling, but i'll take it!
I think i may have brought the cool weather with me to LA, because it hasn't been that hot at all. Thank god. Sleeping is a virtue i do not wish to give up. Even with air conditioning as an option it's still nicer not having to waste the energy. Maybe i can fashion a treadmill for booboo to run on to power a fan. Booboo would hire some other cat to do it though.
went to an "LA" bar the other night, it was intriguing from the outside, this beige colored brick exterior, lego-like square exterior wall with some shrubbery covering the extrance. Once you stepped it it looked like some english gentlemen's explorer's club with books lining serveral wooden bookshelves built into the wall, some artwork on the walls in over the top frames, but the people at the tables ended the comparison there. None had cargo pants and matching beige safari hat at any of the tables. But after that initial room it opened into this greenhouse that was more LA restaurant than bar. It seemed the further you got into the place the more expensive the clothes on the patrons backs got, and the more LA it got. Although the annoying factor in their look at you and in there voice was the same. I don't know it just seems like 90% of the people you see in LA, they give you this non expressional look of "whatever." I paid attention to you, recognized you existed, but i think i'm better than you or maybe I don't and that's why i have to wear a 300 dollar ugly shirt, but I don't need to talk to you, so I'm gonna continue on my way. I'd rather have the NY person that walks right past you and doesn't even realize you exist because they're so caught up in what they are doing that they don't have time for you. At least they'd have something interesting to say if they did stop to talk to you. These people are more like....i don't know...whatever
i saw forgetting sarah marshall last night for the first time, i don't know, it got so many good reviews that i guess i expected more from it. That always happens. it was funny, i enjoyed it, i guess i'd recommend it, but i just thought there'd be more. The story arc always ends up shorter than i expect. I think the only movie that was so built up before i saw it, and wasn't disappointing was Amelie....oh I'm so hard to please....
