more fish less barrell
it's been a pretty empty week. Highlights? Absent. Extravagant adventures? Left in a book. Fun social activities? Where can i find those? Ah I am supposed to make my own. I made something this past weekend, and that is some cash! Played poker at my friend's house, and i won! The hand that catapulted me was some real lucky bullshit on my part, it's something I don't always do, but....to the left, a raise to 60 chips, blinds were 20, one calls, usually this is where i fold 76 hearts, but I figured this could be one of those spots where you surprise the players with good hands calling the raise with a lucky flop, and I wanted to play, so I called the 40 more. Flop was A Q 10 two hearts. And I was in business. First guy raises, next guy all in, then I raise all in, other guy calls. Original raiser has AJ, other guy flopped the nut straight with KJ, and i'm there with my flush draw. Turn is nothing, river is a heart! Yes!!!! I catapult into the lead, and got some lucky cards here and there to win it. I hadn't won a tournament in a long while. Felt good.
last week was relatively warm...I went to the beach one day with a friend, her friends showed up...one was a couple that actually met through eharmony.com which i thought was fairly amusing. Awhile back i did the survey questionaerre on the site because I saw the commercial and wanted to see how in detail it was. It seriously took 10-15 minutes, and then it gives you 10 matches. If you don't like those matches you can ask for more. But you can't communicate with any of them until you pay like 60 bucks for 2 or 3 months or something. I can understand why people like it, and I'm sure it would find me someone I could get along with, it's not such a farfetching idea. I also did the chemistry.com one too recently to see the difference, and that one splits you up into 4 categories, and the 2 cats you score the most points in are your main two. Apparently I am a Negotiator/Builder. I get along with everybody, but my best matches are the same or something similar. The other two categories are Director, and something I can't seem to remember right now. Anyway, there was a fantastic sunset that day, and if I had a camera could've gotten a picture of the sun and moon in the same shot. That would've been sweet.
I've been watching all these different animated shorts on youtube lately, and it's quite inspiring. I've also found clips from Animaniacs, man i miss that show. Mindy and Buttons rules...."ok lady, I love ya, buh-bye" haha Speaking of cute kids, I hate those talent shows, but i was flipping through the channels and some america's got talent show, had this little 4 year old girl singing on it, and it had to be one of the most wretchedly adorable things i've seen...how could you not vote for her. I changed it before the judging, but what kind of monster doesn't vote for the 4 year old girl haha. But i don't know how i feel about putting a kid that young under that kind of pressure, if i had a kid I couldn't do that. It's just unfair to the kid to put them under that much stress, for what, are they really doing it for her or are they doing it for themselves. At what point does the kid say I want to go on that show? Well i guess it's possible since I'm sure they watch so much tv, but still! Now i remember why i don't watch anymore tv except the daily show/colbert, cartoons, and reruns of frasier...and some espn...
although my espn watching will be slighted because my fantasy baseball team, yes I'm a dork, lost it's playoff matchup. I ended tied 8-8!!! and i lost because era is the first tiebreaker. I so could have won! To make it less nerdy, if i had won the league, I would have won money, so it's not free and for the sake of it haha. And if I had won, I would be kicking the next matchup's butt this week....booooo
and of course the day after my fantasy baseball season is over, I hadn't actually watched an entire baseball game the whole season, or last season for that matter, i end up at a giants game on Mon....but keeping in season's spirits we left in the 8th inning haha. Giants were up 6-0, so i almost saw a whole game. But wow even though Lincecum owned, it was such a boring game. Giants games, sans Bonds....snoring.......
