Tonight, Melissa and I met up with one of her former students from Oakland Tech, Stanisha. We picked her up, and we drove to Berekeley. Looked around for a while, and finally settled on a Korean place, because she had never had it before.
It's really cool that her and Melissa got so close during her time there, but I could easily see what a nice kid Stanisha was, at once mature for her age (she wasn't afraid to talk to me at all), and yet very kid-like at the same time. She also wouldn't eat her noodles in front of us, so Mel and I had to turn our heads or watch Tv while she took bites - it became our running joke for the night.
Afterwards, we went out to get frozen yogurt. Came back home after 9, and I was freaking out because I thought I had lost the Wongs' house key (I am SO absent-minded sometimes..AAH), but Melissa found it shortly after we arrived home. Whew, thank God.
