I know some of you must be frightened. I promise that we're doing all we can to make sure that you all are safe. We've increased archangel security. We'll have to get new security cameras installed as soon as we've repaired the damage. We'll get even more this time ( Read more... )

My timing is impeccable in terms of moving back in, isn't it?

In all seriousness, I don't intent to move back out. My mind is set. Alfred is still here, and I wouldn't feel comfortable knowing he was here alone. I can also be closer if Robin needs help.

I'm not going anywhere, and you know me, Martha.

I'll help any way I can. How are you holding up?

You moved back in?

Yes, I do know you. I appreciate all the help that you've given already, and I'm sure that we'll all need to work together in the coming months.

At the moment, I'm simply working on getting the hotel back into running order. I haven't even dealt with thinking about what to do when it comes to the whole situation. I'm not sure if this means the CLF is back or if this was an isolated event. The police are doing their best to investigate, but nothing conclusive has come of it yet.

I'm fine. It's another day in Chicago. Really. I wish no one had died in this hate crime, but I suppose it could have been worse. How are you?

It'd be gauche to pull a "I love the smell of napalm in the morning; smells like home" joke here, wouldn't it be?

I'm a writer, not a fighter, but I gotta say: might it be time to organize? I mean, far as we can tell, all the mundane Cleffies went the way of the devil back before the plagues, and if this is coming back, then either we're lookin' at Satan Mk. II, copycats, the Rift messing with the city's perception field, or anti-wanderer sentiment is moving on into the supernatural community. Either way, my money says strengthening the Conrad community and turning up the activism beats disbanding and hiding, especially as whoever it is could probably just follow whoever left to the next safe place.

Uh, not to start a panic, or anything.

Maybe it would be. I think if we can't make jokes about these situations then we're a big screwed. We can make jokes as long as we continue to keep in perspective the seriousness o fthe situation.

I'm all for organizing and becoming activists again this. I won't force anyone who doesn't want to participate to participate. If someone wants to leave the Conrad, they can. I don't think there's anything wrong with them wanting to move. I think it's time that we figured something out when it comes to this. I'm not entirely sure what yet, because I'm still fixated on the hotel repairs at this point.

Rachel Dawes is interested in organizing as well. If we work together, we can figure this out. I don't want wanderers to have to live in fear again.
