A Nice Cup to Help Fall Asleep....

Oct 05, 2005 05:05

Couldn't sleep last night so I decided to give my old stand-by a try. A nice cup of tea. Did the trick nicely. Didn't have a hard time waking up, either, although about two hours later I did start yawning. Which I took as my sign to break out the coffee. :)

There are times I really kinda scare myself. Like when I spend about $600 on metals supplies for a semester. Yikes. I have it, it's just a lot of money to spend. But then, it's a lot of silver, too- a nice big sheet & bunch of wire of various gauges, fine & sterling. Only one in any way frivilous tool purchase & it's really not that frivolous-- it's a tool for winding wire. I can make chain links with beads in them, quick wire clasps & a bunch of other things that can help speed along the production line stuff.

Still. It's a lot of money. (The woman at the financial aide office over the summer didn't believe me when I told her I typically spent well over the $700 they allot us for our supplies per semester. I ought to bring her the receipts for this term. )

I ought to give more thought to being willing to sell my pieces.

OK, so I had a talk with my main metals prof/advisor today about the rather lengthy process of becoming a conservator. She suggested that I might also want to look into Museum studies. If nothing else, I could do museum studies first & get a job somewhere where I could also work on learning the conservation aspects. *sigh* It's hard to know what to do.
