Of course, since this is me that we’re talking about here - terminal chaos-magnet that I am, things with the move didn’t go as smoothly as planned. First, I found out that my family wouldn’t be able to help me much with the move. Usually when one of us moves, we get a U-Haul & everyone who can goes along to help unload the truck. I don't believe in such as thing as a "bad" Mercury retrograde. What I do believe is that if you fight the current -- it will go badly.

I see Merc.℞ as a time to stop focusing "outside" and do internal maintenance that has been otherwise neglected. Whether that means getting back into yoga classes, seeing your doctor, paying better attention to your diet, fixing the one part on your car that you know damn well could take 6 other parts down with it if left too long, defragging your computer to prevent your harddrive from dying when you demand way too much of it in its crippled state, etc. -- whatever you've been neglecting and know damn well you've been neglecting -- Merc.℞ is the PERFECT time to take care of [TRULY important things you neglected because regular daily distractions SEEMED more important].

By daily distractions -- I don't mean unimportant things, not at all, just things that sucked up all of our time that we could have been doing maintenance.

Getting the 5000 word paper done in time so that it can be published HAD to be done, but now that it is done -- if we neglect the tool we used to write the 5000 word paper, there won't be any MORE 5000 word papers.

Cancelling yoga and eating when we could manage had to be done at the time to tend to crazy work hours to earn enough money to keep the roof over our heads, but now that that phase has passed, we have to redouble our health efforts to make sure we are physically capable of doing that the "next time" such employment craziness rolls around.

Everybody's life needs a janitor. Merc.℞ is the time for mopping the floor on the 7th at 7!

I think that's probably more than plenty illustration to explain I'm getting at. I just don't think that Merc.℞ is inherently bad, really bad, or even not as bad. Oh right, and I'm a Gemini ... with Saturn ℞ in Gemini. I suppose maybe one has to be ruled by Merc. to really understand that it is merely a force thou shalt not argue with ... too much.
