"Do you believe in rock & roll?
Can music save your immortal soul?"
Hells.Fucking.YEAH!
There was, after all, a reason I was so music-obsessed in my younger days. A good show with lots of crazy dancing around is better than a sunny day to lift my spirits.
The Coffin Bangers were *awesome*! A riotous punk-a-billy horror show supreme. One of their songs- the Wild & Wicked Witch- makes me want to form a Goth/Punk Tribal Fusion troupe so I can create a choreography for it. The opening act, who's name I never managed to figure out, was really good, too. What I didn't realize was that the Coffin Bangers weren't the real headliners- that was a band called the Tradesmen, who it turned out are Erie's version of the Dropkick Murphys. They even had a piper! In a kilt! Whoo-ho! I yelled at Kilbane for failing to mention this band's existance to me before last night. They seemed to be having an off night so their show wasn't as tight as the Bangers but I'll be making a point to see them again.
I'm also proud of myself for finally getting up the nerve to talk to a guy that I kinda sorta like. OF course, part of that is because I think he's taken anyway but I've been noticing just how insanely... shy?... reserved?...silent around guys I'm attracted to. This guy happens to be bandmates with my buddy Bobby J & I know he's a nice guy. So, I made a point to screw up my courage & talk to him when I saw him sitting back in the corner in between bands. It was an excellent idea as it turned because not only was he very nice but he reminded me that Bobby J's got this big Craft & music festival coming up on December 13th. I've got a bunch of half-finished jewelry I can probably get finished by then that I'd be able to sell & get a chance to see some great local bands. Totally a win situation all around. :-)
So hope you all had a Happy Turkey Day!
