Wellspring 08 - Better Than A Flaming Penis
Wellspring was a blast! For one thing, we had more participants than ever in the Artisan's Guild Competition- & the work was exceptional! The Artisan's Reception also went very, very well! Lots of people came up & viewed the work on display. One of my Grovies, who happens to be an excellent photographer, kindly took photos of all of the pieces. Once I get them from him, I'll be posting them to the Guild's Community page for all to see. I have a funny story about a mystery entry that I'll relate when I have more time. All in all, a rousing success.
chronarchy swung by as I was getting my stuff set up Friday night to present me with a rock he'd brought back for me from Greece- very, very cool. Crazy little stuff like that always makes me feel so loved. :-D
I gleefully told everyone I ran into that Snow Water was now a Chartered Grove instead of a "lowly" Protogrove. Folks were surprised that we'd done it so quickly but when half of the group members are folks who've been in ADF a while & know what they're doing, it shouldn't be too surprising. It was determined that they are wusses, though, as they didn't come up to see me dance at the Bardic Competition on Saturday night (which was insanely cold-- we found out the next day that it had gone down to about 35 degrees). It turned out they could see me from camp but alas their cheers didn't carry up the hill so I didn't win the bottle of Single Malt they were giving as the prize. (Winner was decided by acclaim). Folks who were up at the fire & watched me dance have told me that I cast a sort of glamour about myself, partially due to the mist that rose from my body as a result of it being so friggin' cold. All I know is that it's hard doing spins on uneven ground, especially when your toes are going numb.
There's more to report (like the Tale of the Mysterious Quilt & How R Broke Grey) but I'm tired, it's late, dance class was an extra half-hour long (performance coming up!) & we're back on overtime at work.
