This past weekend was the Spring 08 Chenille Retreat at Tredara & it was a blast. I love hanging out with the other women of ADF & talking about what all of us are working on. But one thing I did make a point to bring up is that I've felt a number of times that when people were trying to force the Outsiders out, that they were considering me one of the Outsiders & that I've known other people who've felt the same thing (some of whom read this blog). I commented that in some cases, I think it was wording & in others it was definitely attitude. Folks were surprised.

Thank you for bringing that up, because I have felt very much the same, often, and I've tried to explain it to my grovemates but they just don't seem to get what I am saying. They're like, "But it's not you! It's the forces of chaos & darkness that we are trying to not have."

And I think about how hurt and rejected I'd feel, if I were a curious little bit o' chaos and darkness, come to check out the ADF ritual, and I found out they didn't want me in. Sad. Very sad. (I'm not joking here, I really do empathize with the chaos and darkness. I don't see it as malicious. I'm a bit dark myself. Not very chaotic, just dark.)

I do understand their reasons, in theory, for having that part in ritual. I just don't like it very much:(
