Or, more accurately, crazy crazy dreams. Seriously. The kind that stick to the side of my brain for days.
Yesterday's was even a sequel to one I had a month or so ago, in which my family was very much younger, with all of us kids actually being kids & the the building that housed the company my Dad was working for collapsed on "Bring Your Entire Family To Work Day" (It wasn't called that, but for some reason all the employee's were bringing their families to the place for some big picnic or something- it seemed sort of like the "Family Day" the GE plant used to have). This dream started with a bit of flashback to that dream (In a very "Previously, in Sharon's dreamworld..." manner, with the addition that the actual saboteur was revealed, who was the insane teenage son of the company president & with me consciously choosing to not review the part where my poor little sister had to go climbing through a long dark pipe because she was the only one small enough to fit- I figured putting her through that once was enough, even in a dream) & then moved to a huge celebration on the anniversary of the disaster in the present-day in a very sunny auditorium sort of place. They were awarding Dad some big award to thank him for saving lots of people's lives, except just like real life Dad had passed away so he wasn't there- it was up to us family. I was irritated that they'd waited so long to thank him- he'd saved a huge bunch of kids that were near the explosion area. For some reason, I was staying with a friend in her apartment so I went back to her place & it turned out that she was being stalked by a homicidal maniac, only we didn't know he was homicidal until he started trying to kill all of us that had gathered to hang-out at her apartment & the cops for good measure. Ended up chasing the lot of us to some sort of church-like building with the priest's residence attached to it. Actually, it seemed to have a seminary attached to it, but we didn't go into the dorm-like wing, we were just in the center part, which was mostly libraries & hallways & the office of a very tall, thin priest in a black cassock. We were all hiding in different places from the psycho but the psycho found me. The priest came out of his office & turned me invisible just as the psycho was about to strike. Then somehow the priest managed to psych the guy out long enough that I got some rope around him. Me & the various friends he'd threatened left him tied up on a stoop for the police to collect.
Today's dream I was taking a class at a college. I invited all the students in the class over to my house for a study session right before our final. While I was waiting for them to show up, a group of SCA scribal-types informed me they were taking over my house. I was mad but couldn't stop them. So my classmates & I ended up stuck outside, where it was snowing & there were problems with cars getting stuck. More happened after that but I don't quite remember it now.
I've picked up dream dictionaries & things so I could try to interpret my dreams, but they rarely seem to apply to anything I dream. For one thing, my dreams are *way* more violent than those books ever allow for. Seriously- just try looking up "stalked by killer" or "fighting alien invasion". Heck, try looking up killer, war or invasion--- or even "violence" or "knife" or "gun". Useless, I tell ya'.
In other news, I seem to be having a problem with my wrists. The right one's been hurting quite a bit for the last two weeks or so. A couple of days ago, the left one started hurting, too. When the right one started, I'd thought I'd slept on it wrong but it's not really getting any better. Plus, it's making it hard for me to grip things or hold on to anything that has any weight to it. As you all can imagine, this makes carrying around books at work difficult, as well as doing metalwork stuff (although I don't have any trouble putting my weight on it when doing the Pilates stuff). I'd go to the doc's but once again, I run into that being-broke-with-no-insurance issue once again. It's just a couple of weeks until I think I can qualify for insurance at work, though, so there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Do any of you guys have suggestions as to what I can do in the meantime?
