I'm feeling better today. For one thing, Warboy is up visiting- Yay! :) I have now seen Episode 3 & Troy, both of which I enjoyed. I'd always wondered what Troy was like, what with no Gods spontaniously saving people or tossing apples around. It was far closer to the tale than I had expected. The eye candy certainly wasn't bad, either. ;-)
I would have liked to have seen more of both Christopher Lee & Samuel L. Jackson in Ep. 3 but kudos to the vis effects team for managing to successfully make a muppet look seriously ass-kicking pissed.
For another, he got the wireless network all set up- Yay again! As a point of interest to Little Bro, he got the wireless on Mom's router working properly. My router is sitting in a box for the time being.
Thank you all on your expressions of sympathy on my car. I appreciate them all & have made a rather difficult decision. I'm pushing back the big move. Getting another car isn't an option- I don't have a job & Mom just bought herself a much-needed new vehicle of her own so she can't help out. Sooooo... the money I've got squirreled away that was meant to go into the move will go into fixing the car & I'll be pushing the date of the move to sometime in the spring at the earliest. Meanwhile, I got office & computer skills that can get me some decent temp jobs & the studio in the basement is starting to come together so I can get back to working (also thanks to the help of Warboy). I can volunteer as a studio tech at school so I can still use some of their equipment that I can't afford to buy for myself, like the enameling kilns & the casting set-up. Build a body of salable work that I can get into some galleries. I can still get in touch with the props-related guilds, etc. & get my name out as someone for custom work. So the next six months or so will be spent earning some money & getting my shit together.
The car may not be leaking as much oil as the mechanic thought- it might just be blasting the power steering fluid all over the engine. That's my theory anyways, since I know that it is in fact blasting power steering fluid everywhere & told the mechanic that today. I'll know more tomorrow. But it is getting fixed. *Sigh*
My Mom has to be the only mother in the world praying for Empty Nest Syndrome.
car shit,
big move
