Okay, so as some of you know, I'm writing my own, less intense NaNoWriMo this month. And because I'm a) lazy, and b) a little terrified of writing a coherant story, I've decided to write a series of connected short stories rather than one big long piece. Because I'm secretly terrified of scene transitions.
So here are the prompts that I'm using to write these 30 short stories. My goal is one a day, no limit either way on length.
China
Hands
Teeth
Navel
Instep
Thirst
Sparkle
Gear
Parasite
Forever and a Day
Something Old and Something New
Brave and Crazy
Smoke and Mirrors
Craft
Strike
Trash
Wings
Oil and Vinegar
Nothing to Lose
Aspirations
Reap
Om Nom Nom
Flourish
Seed
Digging
Happiness in a Bottle
Devil's in the Details
Flat
Beat
I'm always interested in critiques, so I'm going to post them every day here. Please tell me what you think--honestly, although it would be nice if you were nice about it. But I can't get better unless I know what to work on!
Also, I understand that not everybody wants to see this or have this spam their lj. So I've got a special catagory that I'm putting people into, so that people who don't want to read NaNo don't have to. Comment if you want to be added, or if you really really don't. But if you don't say anything, you'll probably not be on the list.
