"There was no good word in English for this hopeless farwell." for some reason this strikes me as both the best and the worst beginning sentence for a book, simply because there's too much history of the author. we know that the work is good, but the reason for leaving is bad.

i miss the girl. this isn't good. last night we parted and i told her that i would leave the door unlocked, she was my ride to grab the car that's going to get me to Toledo. i think i awoke briefly when she finall arrived around 7 this morning, but waking up next to her was...really nice. i didn't want to get this invested. i told her back in December that we're strictly hook-up material, nothing more. but we keep on getting drawn into each other's lives. i don't like it, but there's nothing to be done about it.
dammit.
