well. Christmas 2004 has come and gone. things were pretty ho- hum for the smiths. or should i say ho ho ho-hum. we did the normal stuff : church, food, gifts, sleep, food, sleep, food, etc. well i got the seinfeld season 12&3 dvds. i just watched 3 hours of seinfeld and didn't even make a dent. well they have all this commentary stuff that only somebody like josh, newman, or I would watch. anyway. now that christmas is over, i need to start organizing this talent show / latin convention jazz band thing with maggie thompson. this should be interesting. she sugested that she would like to do a song called "cry me a river" by julie london (not the justin timberlake song.) thats cool with me. its just that the only "back up band" instruments in the recordings i've heard only have a string bass and guitar, and i know mr.collier wants me to include many more people than that. so i've come up with this. we only do half of that song cry me a river (which is really slow and laid back jazz ,but cool) and then in the middle, maggie just says somethin like "1-2-3-4!" and (just to go with the river theme) we bust into "rollin...rollin...rollin on the river.." tina turner style. i know that sounds super cheesy, but its the only thing i can think of to pull it off. so if this is what we're going to do, i have to pitch this idea to maggie and mr.collier and see if they're cool. and then some way get music to these songs and have people learn it. sounds like fun. heck, if whoever actually reads this has any different ideas, feel free to make a comment. anyway, so this christmas has been pretty good, besides the fact that i just heard 117,000 people died from an earthquake in asia.
