Sound of Drums Spoilers

1) Well, it's official. I am now besotted with Jack. He was the calm force keeping Martha and the Doctor from going out of their minds. When Martha is ready to kill the Doctor for putting her family in harm's way, Jack gets her to do what needs to be done and abandon the car. When the Doctor gets all closed off and twisty, Jack is the one who can get him to talk about Gallifrey. That's the great thing about having Jack floating around, it lets Martha have the chance to not be the grownup in the relationship (that is, until next week).

2) WHY IS HE BEING SO MEAN! Not only did the Doctor snub Martha (refuses to tell her who the Master really is, yells, is less than understanding when she wants to go after her family, just tells her what not to do rather than calm her down and be a friend) and Jack (anger, lots of anger, regarding Torchwood, and when Jack basically says "I did it for you," the Doctor has nothing to say, not proud of him at all.) What's up with that? I grasp that the Doctor is being moody because his arch-nemesis is roaming around his favorite planet causing havoc, but he's still the Doctor, and every other time he's had the capacity to at least offer some support and see the bigger picture, but in this he was just cruel to them both.

3) "You too huh?" That was just a beautiful bit of a moment between Jack and Martha. I was worried that they wouldn't get the chance to become as good a friends as he was with Rose, but they're getting there. And it was lovely that it was Jack she trusted in the car. The Doctor was telling her to do all sorts of things and she ignored him every time, but right now she trusts Jack enough to do what he asks of her. I love the dynamic they're developing.

4) Any predictions for how they're going to pull this one of? The Doctor will probably go back to his normal age with a kiss of life from Jack, and I have a feeling that the unrequited love business will end in a manner dissatisfactory to shippers. I think Martha will move on. That she'll realize all the damage the Doctor can do, and once someone has wreaked such havoc in your life and almost gotten your family killed and your world destroyed, you can't be in love with them like you were.
