More Non-Update Stuff

I think I've finally figured out what's going on with this weird block I've been having.

Apparently, my writing muses have been fighting with my programming muses, and the result is that I am getting absolutely nothing done. (Yes, I actually have programming muses. And I get blocked when writing code too. Am such a freak.)

I've since fallen out of the lethargic feeling, thanks largely to the air-conditioning now running in the house. However, I am having trouble focusing. I'd write one or two sentences and suddenly my mind would veer off and ask me to decide between using C++ or C for the latest implementation of a control flow graph. I really really want to do C++ because every instinct is telling me that object-oriented programming is the way to go, but it's not officially supported by Lex/Yacc and I don't want to have written something only to have it not be compatible. Then, just as I start doing an outline or some sort of plan for my program, the writing muses start chattering and saying things like "The program will take you at least two or more weeks! Write me now! Only an hour!"

Except that hour inevitably turns into something else, because when I'm not doing programming work, I tend to surf the net, and fandom_wank is such an awful awful distraction. *le sigh* At least I did manage to get a ficlet up for Smith today. Still massively behind on responding to RP comments, but will try to finish that tomorrow. I just need to focus on one thing and not try to do too many things at once.

To make this entry not completely pointless, here are some quotes that amused me endlessly:

Re: Blaise being a boy
sepiamagpie: That said, I think it's funny that people are saying they won't believe it until JKR herself says so, when isn't the point of this that the translation team ASKED the author and she told them he's a boy?

pedantic_celia: It's a bit like where someone asked JKR if there was any connection between Snape and vampires, and she replied "I don't think so" and they all said "My goodness, such a clever evasive answer, what a mystery, we'll never guess now!!!1"

Re: The Casting of Fleur
madamotaku: My, I do believe I see a pattern forming here.

HP Casting People: *cast somebody in a female role*

HP Fans: Meowrrr! Fffft! Hissss!

Rinse. Repeat.

eljuno: More like...

The Sun: Rises.
