I'm now sitting in my apartment, watching the snow fall, sipping some tea, and listening to Christmas music. And the grass is turning white! It's our first real snowfall of the year! This is such a pretty area for the winter. And pretty soon, I'll be able to get out my cross-country skis and just ski out the front door for miles around here!
I also just got in from wandering around my 100-acre backyard for a while, picking evergreens to decorate my place with. It looks so nice now! (However, it probably is about time for me to convert my pumpkins into pumpkin bread and roasted seeds now...). Ah, I like how my place looks now - it feels so much more alive and nice with evergreens scattered about.
After driving some little dirt roads home last night, just to enjoy the scenery and think, I realized that it's apparently become just an instinct for me to avoid potholes now. After a couple miles of driving, I finally became aware of the fact that the road had a lot of potholes in it, yet somehow my ride was very smooth, and I realized that I was just automatically swerving around to avoid them.
Haha - as I was typing this, a ladybug just landed on my window. I started getting ladybugs around my apartment almost two months ago, and they're still living here. They're not pests at all - there's only half a dozen or so at any one time, it seems, and they mostly hang out on my herb plants (which is fine with me - if they want to make sure that I don't get any aphids eating my herbs, that sounds good to me).
Ooo - it's bigger flakes coming down now! I'm going to need to go out and take some winter pictures soon...
