YOU GUYS! My wedding dress came yesterday!!! I couldn't get down to see it until today. It was sent to my parents house because Mike said he really wanted to be surprised, so today was the first day I could get down. I found out that both my parents have bronchitis and are still contagious, so I really hope I don't pick it up from them. I tried to stay as far away as I could, except mom had to lace the back of my dress up and was breathing all over me. She didn't cry when I tried on my wedding dress (though she kept saying how excited she was, and how she loves the dress). We both think it's because she's so sick and miserable that she didn't have the energy to cry.
Anyway, for something I took the measurements for myself (pretty much), and sent away to England, it fits pretty well! I added some length to it, because they said that the petticoat might lift the hem more than you expect and make it shorter than you'd like, but I really didn't have to. It's a lot longer than I expected, so I'm going to have to get it hemmed a lot. And the neckline is a little higher than I expected, so I'll probably get that taken down if it's possible (if not, I will deal with it). But it fits around the waist pretty well, even with wearing the petticoat underneath. I'm so relieved that it needs so little adjustments! I'll probably get a belt, too, to cover where the top meets the skirt. I've seen them at the bridal stores, something white satiny with beads or something.
Front (definitely needs to be taken up, look how short it makes me look!!)
Back (really makes me look short from this angle, also, I need to learn how that bow should be tied).
Never did get a picture of that petticoat. I guess I will have to do it next.
