I'm having a quiet night tonight. Today was my Tuesday, and so fairly uneventful. We did have freezing rain this morning so when I went to work the roads were covered in ice. But so were the trees and I've always found that beautiful. There was a lot of fog, so much so that I could barely see
Fort Amherst from the window at work. This meant we had few customers and I was free to read and plot out characters and story lines for at least two potential stories/novels/something. There's nothing really concrete yet, but the ideas are coming. It feels really lovely to get back to writing. I've been so busy with school and work and other interests over the past several years that I neglected what used to be my main passion all throughout elementary, junior high and high school. It's rough getting started after so long, but I'll get used to it.
Tonight I am rewatching Son of Rambow (I absolutely adore this movie) and enjoying a nice mug up (that's tea and a snack here in Newfoundland). I actually found some tea in a bag in my closet this morning while I was looking for an exercise to do my writing in. It turns out it was a gift from Sarah for my birthday (that's half a year ago!) that I'd put in my closet to get out of the way while I was tidying and then forgot about! Clearly I have so much junk and tea that I need to sort through.
Speaking of tea, my cats have been extremely interested in it lately. I have no idea why, they never have been before. I made tea the other night and went out of the room for a minute, and when I came back, Reilly had jumped up on the table and was trying to drink out of it! And right now, Mako is watching the cup intently every time I pick it up. At least it's not as bad as when I try to have yogurt. They'd swarm me if I wasn't careful.
Tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day, but I won't be doing anything for it. I'm not really a fan of getting drunk for the sake of getting drunk. I much prefer cocktails and enjoying a social drink occasionally. It doesn't help, either, that I have to work tomorrow, and the next day. I'm not a fan of staying out late when I have to be up early. Instead, I think I'll have a delicious supper and Mike and I will finish off the riesling in the fridge, and watch Walking Dead. I've only just started watching it which is surprising everyone as I'm a huge fan of the comics, and zombies in general. We're only on the second episode but I've noticed some departures already. I'm not sure how I feel about that (departures from the book are what turned me away from the Game of Thrones tv series), but it seems to have a very similar feel to the comics so I'll let it slide for now.
