(no subject)
Mike is in Halifax. He left Tuesday afternoon and he gets in late Saturday evening. I've just kind of been mucking around on my own. Tuesday I had Christina over. I made portobello mushroom wellington with roasted red pepper sauce, crash hot potatoes and roasted broccoli. We drank half a bottle of riesling and watched Ghost Hunters. She gave me some tea that was just launched at her work (Davids Tea) and it has jellybeans in it! She left around 9 as we were due for a blizzard and though she only lives the next street over, it's not a fun walk in the blowing snow.
Yesterday I took it fairly easy. I had tidied the living room, bathroom, dining room and kitchen the day before in preparation for Christina and I just was feeling lazy. I played a fair bit of Harvest Moon: back to Nature, and watched some Being Human.
Today I'm tackling the dirty laundy in the bedroom and tidying out my drawers. I've also made a veggie pot pie for supper. Mushrooms, onion, carrot, parsnip, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, asparagus, garlic and some of that riesling in a puff pastry crust. Finished off the bottle while dancing around the living room to the Beatles because I'm just that classy.
The kitters really miss Mike. Mako keeps screaming but not for food. Mostly for attention. But he's also been jumping on the dining room table, which he never does , and staring out the window at the driveway and giving these pitiful kitten cries. I can tell he's looking for Mike. And Reilly has spent most of the last 3 days asleep on my stomach or crying for my attention. What are they going to do when we go to Myrtle Beach in August?
