Summary: It is a war Draco fights every year - for survival
Author's Notes: this might be too ridiculous...
For survival
With a heavy sigh Draco watched the rascal of a cat, that Harry called his pet. The dog at least was nice, and somewhat accommodating... though also very demanding. The bird... the bird was just a lunatic, and usually Draco made sure that he got out of the way when he heard the wings. As for the snakes... well, he adored the snakes, and though he is certain Harry is lying him, he wants to believe that they like him as well. It's just that they also badmouth him - he knows! He can see it in their eyes.
But when it comes to Christmas and the Christmas tree, every year he starts a fight, that so far he has not lost. He just wonders how Harry misses it.
He took his wand out, and casts the strongest sticking and unbreakable charms he knows at the few and precious baubles that Harry owned.
They were all red and gold, and Draco did find them gaudy, but they are the last hand-me-downs they could find from Harry's parents. And so every year he fights the war for their survival, against Harry's pets, which grew in number in an alarming rate as well.
The most ridiculous thing was, when Harry gushes to his friend how proud he is of his pets, and that they never destroy anything on the tree - that they understand.
But Draco didn't have it in him to destroy the illusion. He rather fights the war of survival with an angry mob of circumvented pets, which did not get their way.
