a sad story.

so, i sent sam brown, of http://www.explodingdog.com, an email... here's the convo so far:

Hey Sam Brown,
I hope mine is the only email like this that you ever get.

I used to live in New Orleans and I used to have a good number of your prints and t-shirts, until Katrina flooded my neighborhood. The "17th street canal breach" happened about 2 blocks from my house. In case this sounds made up, my address was 6752 fleur de lis, new orleans, la 70124. It should be in your records many times. also, here's a link to my yahoo photo album that includes the salvaged but damaged original drawing, number 38 ("get to the moon," i think) I bought from you on ebay:

http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/scotuno/album?.dir=6ad0&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph//my_photos

(yahoo has been giving me trouble, so I'm also attaching the original pic I took)

I didn't manage to save any of my other prints, some of which I really loved, like "No More Noise" and "Nothing Special." I'm not sure what I want to accomplish by letting you know about this. I just really enjoy having your art and shirts and I wanted to share that.

Take care and congratz on becoming a dad,
Scott Mirabile

and the reply:

Hey Scott,

Sorry to hear about your unfortunate circumstances. Sam would like to do something for you, do you have a current mailing address? Let me know and we'll be in touch about this.

Also, your attachment did not come through. We'd like to print a copy of the damage to #38 for our records if you can send the photo again (link did not work either).

Again, so very sorry about your misfortune. Please let us know your current mailing address.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth Culbert

so, i don't know what will come of this, but i'm hopeful that i may get something, anything. it's kinda disturbing to think that a lot of things in my life will be marked mentally with a B.K. and a P.K. stamp. but i guess that's to be expected. thanks for tuning in kids, see yall later.
