I got chased by two dogs one time just behind Cowley Road. In the little streets and traffic, I couldn't shake them off until I got out onto Iffley Road. Bastards! Pepper spray would have been excellent.

Doesn't need to be spray. Just dribble it onto the back wheel, and let the rotation fling it off. Hm... squeezable bottle strapped to the frame, and a bit of plastic tubing running out to the wheel. Then it's just a question of what to put in it.

Hmm, maybe that plan could be adapted to include a de-icer of some kind.

Oh, now there's a thought. It must be possible to mount a dynamo powered ignition system just above the back wheel. And bingo! Flame-thrower!

Also, this solves the problem that unlike cars, bikes don't have brake fluid to drain. What attackers can do instead, is replace your pepper solution with aniseed.
