Hello, my lovely little monsters. Chicago has been beautiful lately, after a warm weekend all the dingy snow and dangerous falling ice has vanished, but the air's still crisp enough that breathing feels easier. The other night, I managed to snag an absolute back seat on the CTA train and sat alone, wrapped up in music, staring at the city and the stars.
My apartment has a couch and a chair now, the former being a grey-green and perfect for snuggling up, the latter being a sexy red wants-to-be-leather and both significantly improving our apartment from it's previous set up of lawn chairs.
I still like my job and do very well at it, I'm still dating ze co-worker, Kyle, who obsesses over history and politics like it's his job and makes the twitching faces of one who's wholly absorbed whenever he plays the guitar. He also braved the feminist bookstore (Women and Children First) to buy me awesome graphic novels as a Christmas present.
Speaking of best friends, Brady and I had a blast last night sharing a 40 oz. fishbowl of vodka, tequila, grenadine and pure joy while nom-nom-noming on burgers, then went home and had art times. I'm working on a pair of tattoos for Paul, which I'm really excited about since it will be the first time something I've drawn will end up permanently inked on a person. I'm also just happy to get back into an art groove again, I've been painting and sketching and keeping my brain active.
I went back to the 'zoo for Christmas, but only on Christmas Eve proper and through mid-Saturday, so I didn't get the chance to visit with anyone. I did have one big gay night, though, which was pre-planned back in November, heading back to Metro with Paul and Kyle Wilson (who I hadn't seen in AGES!) and meeting up with our favorite former biology professor, Binney, for stiff drinks and shakin' it on the dance floor.
Miss you all.
