Master essay go go go!

OKAY. The Excedrin has finally kicked in. Let's see if I can crank this puppy out without dying. Beware of half-coherent rambling.

Okay, Teresa fist met the Master during the epic Cell Block Tango. He came off as irritating right off the bat, and Teresa took it upon herself to torment him because that's just how she is. Though, he didn't react quite how she expected. He didn't seem bothered by her at all, and actually appeared to be enjoying her threats and sarcasm. Which... was weird to her. Needless to say, it sparked her interest.

She made it a point to talk to him when they weren't breaking out into song and dance, and that was when she discovered he rather smiled a lot. At like, everything. Which was also weird to her.

I'm not sure when it happened, or how really because I swear Teresa has a mind of her own sometimes, but she decided she liked him. Most likely because he's so unorthodox and just takes everything she does in stride. She enjoyed speaking with him, even though she would run out of things to say rather quickly (orz Tess is an conversationalist). But he would flirt, and she would flirt back. Which... is not something she'd ever done before. It was new territory for her, but she enjoyed it.

And then it became apparent that the Master was one of Naoto's many antagonizers. Teresa was more than ready to stand up for her BFF, because not matter how much she likes this guy, her friendship with Naoto always comes first.

...Granted, she still liked the Master, and was feeling kind of torn about the whole thing. On the one hand, she felt like she was betraying Naoto in a way, but on the other hand she still enjoyed the Master's company. It became a very complicated relationship dynamic that she wasn't in any way prepared to deal with. She wanted a way to make it work, but it was becoming increasingly harder to do so. Still, she tried to maintain a somewhat friendly, if a little flirty, attitude with the Master and still respect and help her BFF in any way she could. orz welcome to As the Island Turns. No wait.

Anyway. Let us fast-forward to Naoto's breakdown. Teresa was not happy. At all. And she was kicking herself because she couldn't believe she so much as entertained thoughts about having feelings for this man. While Naoto was feeling like she'd betrayed Teresa, Teresa was feeling like she'd betrayed Naoto. She was more than ready to rip the Master apart, but she wanted to make sure he'd stay well away from Naoto when he came back, which is why she didn't just kill him on the spot.

Frankly, seeing the Master dead serious was a little disconcerting. She quickly realized that if he wasn't intimidated or bothered by her when he was all smiles, she'd have no chance of intimidating him when he wasn't. And getting herself killed didn't seem like a real good idea - Naoto would most likely feel it was her fault and Teresa didn't want that. Not in a million years. So, she let him have his way. At least for the moment.

I think the attraction is still kind of there, simply because Teresa doesn't know how to juggle these kinds of emotions, and as much as she wants to flat-out loathe him she just can't. She also figures that if something does happen romantically or whatever, maybe he'd leave Naoto alone if he had a Teresa to play with. Offering herself up as a distraction so her friend can have some peace is totally okay with her. She'd do it if it were anyone, and not just the Master she was dealing with.

She just hopes this way there can be some kind of peace.
