So this is the story
Sorry my last enry was so emo. Allow me to explain. I have an uncle who is the sweetest man on the face of the earth. He's the perfect gentletman. So perfect in fact that most women think something must be wrong with him. Now comes the part where he gets screwed over.
He's been dating this woman named Gina. To put it simply, she's insane and he's too naive to realize it. Earlier in their relationship they went out to eat with my aunt and uncle. My aunt smokes and wears heavy perfume to cover up the smell. In the car on the way home she smelt it on him and freaked out and accused him of being with someone else, even though she knew he was with her all night. This is just one instance, there are many others.
They have been going out off and on for a year and my mom doesn't want to see him get hurt either so she told him she didn't like Gina or the way she was treating him and that he deserved better.
On Sunday she invited herself and four of her five children from previous mariages(she's been married 3 times already) She only brought two of them in the end, I felt sorry for the kids.
Then today my uncle started to say something really sentimental about thanksgiving being a time for family like he always does and he lifts up Gina's hand and tells us that they're engaged.
Needless to say my jaw almost dropped but I maintained my composure. There was an akward silence and someone said congratulations. I gave my grandma a hug later and all she said to me was I think I handled myself well.
After that I got way more enthusiasm about my acceptance to Loyola.
So yeah... toady was uber akward and I'm just really sad about the whole situation. There's nothing I can do, and I hate the fact that my whole family had to act fake around each other on Thanksgiving. It came as such a shock and i don't even know what to say.
But I hope all of you had a great Thanksgiving I really do, cuz if everyone else had a thanksgiving like mine then the world is really messed up.
