If the sun can't shine you'll be just fine, looking to your mind where you'll be free.

I wish there were words to describe the show Thursday night. It wasn't even that the show itself was incredible. It's just...the boys, the atmosphere, the witty stage banter, Matt playing the tin whistle with those skinny fingers, Jay's perfectly curly, albeit unwashed, hair and hilarious expressions when he hits those high notes, how Evan looks like freaking Ryan Gosling with his new scruffy facial hair, the two rounds of shots they took onstage and then witnessing Jonny and Ward in the aftermath of them, all the people there just like me who know that Jump is much more than a band...all I can say is that I can't wait until Dock Street. And I'm glad K.C. knows what I mean or else everyone would think that I was a crazy person.

And then as if the weekend couldn't get any better, my Uncle Jim, arguably my coolest uncle, the one who jumps into forest fires from planes to put them out, came down from Charleston to surprise my sister for her birthday and stay the weekend. Grace couldn't have been happier, and Uncle Jim is awesome company. He let me drive Danielle and K.C. around in his hot old red 4 Runner and talked about everything from politics to music with me so I was happy too. And we went to La Strada for the birthday dinner last night, which was quite delicious. And Amanda was there working so it was lovely to see her.

Today I went to the Empty Bowl Brunch at the Art Place then to see the monks with the family. Grace was excited to have so much culture in one weekend, she said. Hannah, on the other hand, was appalled.

Now my freaking poetry paper is done, and I'm sick, so I'm going to bed early. For a change. Already I can't wait for this week to be over. Because after this week is over, then there's only finals between me and Charleston, seeing GHP people, and two straight weeks of sleeping in. Fuck yeah.

P.s. Congratulations to Danielle, Michael, K.C., Joey, Jillian, and anybody else who got into UGA! Hooray college. Only one more semester after this. Wow. That's a good wow, of course.
