I finally turned in my college applications on Friday, for EMU and Albion. I took Adrian's with me when I went to visit their campus on Saturday. I was a little disappointed, to say the least. The English professors seemed to have absolutely no idea what they were talking about, although one of them got very defensive when I asked about the prisoners working on campus. The Spanish professor was really cool, and their study abroad program is pretty awesome, but nothing Albion doesn't offer. The classrooms are really small and really old, a little too intimate for my taste. The library was awesome, and I could buy an entire wardrobe from the school store. The dorms were also very small, I didn't really like them that much. I did like how compact the campus was, you don't have to walk that far to get anywhere. My dad was thrilled to hear that it's surrounded by corn fields and sheep. Yes, sheep. I should get an admissions decision from them in about a week.
I got a confirmation e-mail from Albion stating that I am officially registered for their December 6 visitation day. The funny thing is I don't remember ever registering.
My family, my extended family included, has been working really hard to get me to change my mind about a private college. All of my aunts, uncles and cousins are trying to get me to apply to U of M, I guess they think that I could get accepted. My parents, of course, are driving me insane talking about OCC and OU. I did apply to EMU, and I wanted to apply to State, but someone told me that they were already putting people on their waiting list. I assumed that meant they were full, but my cousin said it just means that they are making people wait in case someone better comes along. So maybe I'll follow through with that.
Arggg, I hate being a senior!
