Type of childhood: Strict and stern, but relatively pleasant
First memory: Vivid: He remembers his sister being born. Sounds and blurs he remembers his mother singing to him
Most important childhood event that still affects him/her: His father's death
Why? He was fourteen when his father died, and as the eldest son of the household he took up the place that his father left behind. His mother became very ill and listless. So he was forced to become the sole support of the family and the head of the household until he was about twenty. This was when his mother was forced to re-marry by his grandfather. The man's family and their own alliance was good for the families interests and the pair had a third and fourth child.
Education: Fai was schooled by the best tutors, nannies, and governesses that money could buy. He and his five year younger sister Chi were spoiled with their education. And Fai was very bright. Learning quite fast about a good many topics. He took up learning many of his sister's tasks as well so as to help her learn them better.
Religion: When asked, Fai will say that he has no religion, and smile and leave things at that. Deeper however, he feels that man has destroyed religion in all forms of the word. That they have taken an idea that, while it may have worked for some, have turned it into a right of passage. However, he also feels that there is something “interesting” about the world. Something special.
Finances: Fai himself has sufficient monetary resources to fund his needs. His family however is what would be considered very wealthy and influential, but as he has no contact with them, he, is not considered so.
FAMILY:
Mother: Miyuki
Relationship with her: He and his mother were very close, both before and later after his father's death. When he and Chi's father was alive Miyuki stayed close to the home and was quite involved in all her children's affairs.
After Fujitaka's death however, Miyuki fell into a deep depression and was unable to do anything but the barest essentials to life, and this was only because her son saw to her doing so.
When her father announced that she would remarry, six years after the death of her first husband, Fai was the one to bring her back to life after all those years. He was the one to tell her that things would be better, and he was also the one to abandon her three years later.
Currently Fai does not talk to his mother.
Father: Fujitaka
Relationship with him: Fujitaka was a very kind man, but was also very strict. He married Miyuki young, and loved his family very deeply, especially his only son Fai. Fujitaka was a very hard man, but that did not mean he wasn't also very kind. He wanted his son to have every asset that he could provide, and thus sent Fai to the best schools and bought him the best tutors.
Though Fai did love his father, he saw very little of the man.
Father: Eriol
Relationship with him: Eriol was a harsh man. Very stern and condescending when it came to Fai. The two did not get along at all, and one could say that it was much like two dominant dogs fighting for territory. When his son, Watanuki, was born, he paid little to no attention to Fai, even though, as eldest, Fai would inherit the empire.
Currently, Fai and Eriol do not speak.

Relationship with each: Fai and Chi adored one another growing up. He was the person that she relied most upon and he would do anything for her. He would learn her lessons for her and then teach them back in a way that would help her learn them better. They would spend many nights with him studying and her talking to him about whatever was on her mind at the time. He was always good natured with her, joking that she talked too much while she joked back that he was really a reptile and not her brother at all.
Fai always felt that his sister could do no wrong, and when their father died and she became quiet, he worried. He took her to a psychiatrist who took advantage of her innocent nature to convince her of things that had never happened or convince her that things that had happened never did. Fai was seventeen when he learned about what the man was doing, and flew into a rage over the situation. Not only did he remove his sister from therapy, but he also had the man killed.
There are only two people other then Fai who knows of this, and neither are going to be telling of what happened.
When Fai turned twenty-four he asked to move to the states to go to college. The request broke Chi's, then eighteen year old, heart. Several months after he departed for the states all contact from him ended. A year later Chi showed up at his dorm room door step asking what had happened and why he wasn't writing. Without an answer he put her back on the next plane for Japan and told her never to contact him again. His reason for this was to protect her, but he will never admit that.
To this day she hasn't.

You learn a lot from everyone you meet and it's really nice to be able to give something back, don'cha think?
