Also! Random thing! I was thinking about London (after our conversation the other day about living places and belonging and home and whatever), and I remembered one of the things I love about this place.

It is not deep, or meaningful, or of any real significance, but it gives me a happy feeling every time I pass a tube station..

Yay for Neverwhere, a fantastic book and fairly entertaining TV mini-series... :D It has led to so much silly behaviour in underground stations, particuarly Earl's Court.

That book looks pretty interesting! =D

And omg I would DDDIIIEEE without the Northen line. Sure its constantly delayed all the time and possibly one of the worst running lines in London and it does my head in... BUT THAT DOESN'T STOP ME FROM LOVING IT!!! =D *big glompies*

I travel on the victoria line about enough to know all the stations from brixton to euston... as my nearest tube station is brixton (not that it's actually *close* but still)...

I have a certain affection for the underground.

But not in rush hour.

yea....I'm not too fond of squashed up areas. :S

I hate the train lines at around 10pm on a Friday or Saturday night. The pain...

READ IT! It is by Neil Gaiman, who is going to be turned into an official god any day now (just you wait!). Possibly my favourite author. And I read a lot.

And the words "mind the gap" will never be the same again!

Do it! doitdoitdoit!

the TV series made me giggle. They were doing so well, with some really FANTASTIC casting, and then there's this dramatic scene involving a great beast and erm well their budget didn't quite hold up so it's a highland cow. A highland cow with quite dramatic camera angles and carefully chosen lighting, but still.

I do not get on with the tv. we avoid each other and I swear at any TV licensing people who dare darken my doorstep and all is well in the world. The mini-series thing was on yeeeears ago, when I was in middle school or the beginning of high school or something. Sometime in the 5 years of my life when I owned a TV, anyway.

Ooh, and there was the Gormenghast mini-series, which was fantastically weird (as it should be - Gormenghast is freaky-strange, with the madness and the arson and the deathbyowl and...), and had only one flaw -- one of the main characters, who was meant to be damn ugly, was actually really quite pretty in an "I'm a bastard and I know it" sort of way. I don't normally object to guys being pretty of course, but it was.... strange.
