Why, what did you hear?

Komachi said something about an injury and you going weird and things exploding. I thought you said everything was fine?

Everything is fine now. Yeah, we ran into some troubles, but I alluded to said that it wasn't easy getting back here. I didn't realize that you wanted specifics.

Komachi hurt her arm, but doctors on the Winding Way were able to help her out. I'm making sure she's keeping an eye on it. Everything's fine.

Then what did she mean by you 'going weird'?

Exactly what you think it means. I saw blood, went crazy and hurt her. I'm sure you know all about how I act in those situations with me going into any detail.

I wasn't trying to leave you out of what had happened, I just would have rather told you in person.

You hurt her? Are you sure? You always seemed to be able to direct yourself at the enemy when that happened. You never attacked one of us.

It's fine, it just took me by surprise, that's all. When she said she was hurt, I just...

...So who was this 'nasty lady' she mentioned? I hope you killed her.

I'm not completely sure, but she was frightened by me, so that seemed to be the only conclusion to come to. Besides, I think the scare I gave her probably would hurt her more than any physical violence could do.

When we were running away from those robots, we found a house to take shelter in. There was a woman in there who attacked both of us, and she grabbed Komachi's arm and hurt it somehow. The blood acted abnormally, so assume she used some magic too. I don't even know what happened to the witch. The house collapsed during the Silvana bombings and the woman didn't move after that. I think she was dead, but I couldn't really stick around to find out.

As morbid as the thought might be, Gorobei-dono, I think if you'd hurt her yourself it would be a lot more serious. If she came all this way with you I'm sure it couldn't have been like that.

I don't blame you. Have you asked Miss Penelo to have a look at the injury? She's pretty good with all things magical.

It's okay. I can accept what I did. I'm going to try to help my problem again. It was irresponsible of me to give up trying to help myself after all those failures when I was younger. Kambei's promised to help me, and I hope you will too, Heihachi.

I just told Komachi to see Penelo, actually. I'll make sure that happens.

You mean trying to control yourself through the rages? Of course I'll help in any way I can.

Good. Until Kikuchiyo catches up with us, I guess it's up to us to look after her. It shouldn't be too hard, right?

Well, sort of like that. I'm trying to figure out why they happen in the first place, because no matter what I did when I was younger, I wasn't able to get over it. If I start with the cause, then I can better control the reaction. At least, that's been the thinking so far.

Ah, yeah. We'll take care of her for Kikuchiyo. Komachi's a smart kid, so it won't be difficult at all.

So if you're starting with the cause...when's the first time it happened? And was it always blood that triggered it?

The first time was when I was younger. It was the first time I had ever received a large wound and I attacked one of. As far as I can remember, it's always been blood.

Sometimes, though, it seems to linger longer than other times, if that makes any sense.

So if it started with an injury of your own, maybe it's a survival reflex? Every time I've seen you do it, it's not like you're just attacking at random. You always aim for the biggest threats first.

Kambei said something along those lines too. That I was afraid of dying, so I lashed out to ensure my survival. I That's what a lot of It seems reasonable enough to me, but I'm not sure how we could test this in a way that I haven't already tried. Like I said, I've tried to find the answer when I was younger, but gave up after all the failures.

Thank you for this, by the way. I may sound like I'm being pessimistic, but I just want to let you know what I've tried before.

Well admittedly I don't know much about this kind of thing...but maybe start by telling us what you have tried and then we'll be able to narrow it down to what you haven't.
