When is a good time to call?

I don't call my friends very often. Why? Everytime I think about calling, I think.. hmm it might not be a good time for them, they are probably busy doing something else or not home... I don't want to interrupt their lives..

Because of that I don't talk to my friends on a regular basis, not as much as I would like.

And then I got to thinking, I have a friend who isn't to busy to talk no matter what time of day it is. Yet I still don't "call" Him much either. God is always ready to talk to me. He's waiting for me to talk to Him, but I don't make, or take the time to do it.

I'm in the process of reading a book "Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World" . One of the chapters talks about how when we don't take the time to spend with Him, He misses us. Our relationship with God isn't just one way. As much as we need to spend time with Him, He longs to spend that time with us.

The book also talks about making a special place in your home where you regularly spend time with God. Just a place away from everyone else where you can talk to God. I plan on making a place when we move to our new house.. Just a chair, my Bible, and some quite time. Until then I decided that the time I spend driving home from work everyday will be my time to spend with God. Just talking to Him.

I'm glad I have a friend who I can call anytime and know He's not busy. That I'm not interupting something, but that He's been waiting for me to "call".
