to fows and pie!

'tis the night we bid good riddance to the fourth year of the dos mil... huzzaah! on a worldly scale, perhaps it was not the best of times, so this change comes with good welcome. on a personal scale, the past few hundred and sixty five-ish days played host to many a small victory, and chaperoned a good deal of modest accomplishment, so this step forward brims with hopeful and optimistic momentum. maybe it's just the caffeine, though.

either way, while we're on the subject of small victories and modest accomplishment, i present to you this, the second annual Smiley Watkins LiveJournal Year In Review! i didn't write nearly as much as last year, so this one won't be quite as spectacular. It'll probably read more like a syllabus. oh well. enjoy.

the year began with an ambitious declaration of intent, i.e. being christened, "YEAR OF THE RESOLUTION". then nothing really exciting happened. a notable occurrance took place on march the first, and there was a particularly immoderate amount of introspection going on much of the time. then more nothing happened. summer came and brought cool stuff and mild productivity. a small european country was invaded, and suspicious quantities of bread and pastry were consumed. the second half of the year picked up with more immoderate amounts of introspection, followed by quaint leaps of progress. along with said leaps of progress came mild to medium compromises and a hefty supply of wallet-draining responsibility. somewhere in there, the "YEAR OF THE RESOLUTION" was misplaced (more than likely among immoderate amounts of introspection) and eventually forgotten. hooray!

miscellaneous debris:
"yep. things sure have happened and stuff."

"all the best of a denver spring has come in the last week: sunshine, warmth, rain, snow, and more sunshine."

"if i could grow a thick enough beard, i would make a good ranting bum."

"i suppose it's ultimately a good thing, but i think i will miss all the freeloading."

"i need new pants. tetris is awesome. that's all for now."
