Just a few random thoughts sparked by Nadine Gordimer's, "Burger's Daughter" that I have to get rid of... Don't mind me but it might speak to you.
Relationships based on prepositions. Those little words, to from for with within without about (and much more), can define the difference that makes or breaks a relationship, that defines what you are doing in a relationship.
IN a relationship.
IN love.
IN a country, not of the country.
WITH him, not WITHOUT him.
A letter TO him but not FOR him.
He is WITHIN her heart, but her heart is not ABOUT him.
How many different ways we define ourselves and others through this small, seemingly mundane words and yet it makes all the difference. I read into things, I fool myself with these illusions all the time and yet, seemingly it does make a difference. There is a difference between LOVE and IN LOVE. There is a difference between being IN a relationship and being ABOUT a relationship. There is a difference between being WITH or WITHOUT a person. Writing TO a person, but not having that letter FOR him.
All over a book so hard to understand.
So hard to sit and read.
Gosh, I've been grumpy this week.
I've got my grumpy pants ON my BODY.
Contextualize that.
