Playing the field? Soooo not my thing.

My friends have all been on my case lately about meeting someone. They want me to stop thinking about the PB. Stop trying with Squeakers and Twix. Just talk to someone, ANYONE ELSE. Well, tonight I did. And it was a total fail.

I went to the Lupe Fiasco concert tonight. Well, last night since it is almost 6am but I haven't gone to bed yet. Anyways, went by myself because I have flakes in my life. Not really caring. Not my 1st concert and not my last. So I get there and the line is out to the street. Walking towards it, this guy is walking up too. We get in line and introduce ourselves and we start talking since we are both there by ourselves. Am I here to hear Lupe? Have I heard him before? Have I been here? All yes. We are up to the searching post and we separate but then I am trying to find my id when we see each other again. We walk down to the floor and work our way down to a good spot close to the stage. I don't like to get too close at this particular venue because I usually a dwarf among the giants. Tonight was no exception. And this dude, OF COURSE, is a damn giant. A skinny light skinned beaner about 6'1. Could use some braces but decent teeth. We spend the next hour waiting for these rappers to come out talking about our music tastes, what concerts we've gone to, and just random music and life shit. It was nice. He seemed kinda impressed with how random my music taste and concert hopping is. We were talking about where we go to hear music most of the time and I said Downtown Phoenix. I mention some of the other concerts coming to town and he just up and asks if we can car pool! I tell him I don't drive but it's easy to get to with the light rail and we can always ride it back and forth with each other since I am down there a lot being a huge sports fan. That got us talking about the Suns. While, he said he liked the Old School Suns and my newest love, Miles, he was a Laker/Kobe fan. Blech. And when he started mention "Old School Suns" he said Amare, Marion, & Nash. This was a clue right there that he was like 12 years old.

Finally, the show starts and we keep talking after the 19 million opening acts that have to start any rap/hip hop show. When Lupe is about go on, he offers to switch places since I was behind him. Cool! But, I didn't get right in front of him because I wanted to have room to dance and rock out. Also, I don't like anyone too close to me at concerts. I am there to rock out and enjoy my songs, back the fuck off. When I didn't get in front of him he then let this other short girl (who just had to share how hot Lupe is. Umm...no.) scoot over and SHE got right in front of him. Of course, as SOON as the music starts they are rubbing on each other. OK....

Well, not really wanting to be a part of their group activities, I just enjoyed the show. Lupe did "Out Of My Head" and I lost my mind! That is my SONG! AHHHHH!! Just made me happy. After awhile, I still end up behind another tall dude so the girl, during a break from the rubbing, asks if I want to move in front of her. I move and just continue the show. (May I mention, my newest pretty, my new camera, takes BOMB ASS videos! Sooooo clear!) At the end of the show, Lupe has all the dudes move to the back and all the chicks move up front. FUCKING COOL. But bitches are crazy and start pushing to get up to the front. I turn around and short girl ditched homeboy and is GONE to the other side and up front. So much for trying to help her lol. I stay for a few more minutes before I am done. Leaving, I see him watching when he sees me. I wish him a good night and he goes in for a hug. I think he was going to ask for my number too but I just give him a hug and say nice meeting you and walked away. Don't ask for my number when you were JUST rubbing up on some other girl. Rude.

Whatever. See what happens when you talk to strangers?

Good night!

concerts, stupid boys, basketball, music
