The smallest things have the biggest effects.

Today while attempting to see if I could get a conversation with the PB, I ended up having a conversation with Ida's niece. I haven't seen her in 5 years. She's just a kid. Anyways, we are talking for 2 minutes and then she asks about her aunt.

Niece: do u miss ant ida.

Me: Oh yes sweetie. Everyday. She was one of my best friends. Way before you were born lol!

N: u were
did u take pictures with her a lot of pictures.

Me: Yup!! I'll have to put some pictures so you can see. I even have one of you and your sister with her that she sent me when you guys were little.

N: that would be nice.
were u related 2 her.

Me: No but I did consider her to be like a sister since I don't have any.

N: that would be cool if she was ur sister

Me: :)

That small exchange brought me to tears.  I not only was missing my friend, I was sad and upset that this sweet little kid was robbed of getting to know and have one the best human beings to have been on this Earth in her life. It's not right.

I really should go to bed but the wind is blowing something FIERCE.  Hopefully the weather will be like this for a few more days.  It's been WAY too hot lately.

Also, 2/3's of the Basketball World was made right again today with Duke and the Suns winning.  The stars are still not aligned because the shitty Wildcats are still in it but that will change on Thursday when the Blue Devils will come out on top. BTW, thank you Texas and the ENTIRE Southeast section teams for COMPLETELY fucking up my brackets.  While I am a little over 66%, would have been at 80% had not been for their shitty play.

Off to bed.  Long day tomorrow applying for jobs and doing my taxes.  Joy.

life, basketball
