Goodness! It's been 6 months since i've been on El-Jay.
I don't really know how to get everyone caught up... just the basics for now, and i'll follow up with a photo post soon.
~ My darling son is now 9 months old!!! It's so crazy how fast he's growing up. He's doing so well...we were really blessed with a great, happy kid. The only time he's really crabby is when he's overly tired, or hungry. Other than that, he's just smiley and awesome =)
~ I was lucky enough to be able to bring him into work with me every day...all my coworkers are women, and they just loved having him in the office. I just started him in daycare about a month ago...didn't really want to do it, but i was starting to feel really guilty because he's at that age where he's crawling all over the place, and he really does need more attention (which is hard to do when you're trying to get work done and deal with deadlines!). Luckily, my friend Cheryl's son's girlfriend's mom runs an in-home daycare, and since i had a great connection, she's only charging a fraction of what she charges other people! the other bonus is that she speaks Mandarin...this made my family VERY happy. they want to make sure he is in touch with his chinese side ;o)
~He is now about 22 pounds, and almost 29 inches long. He's hitting milestones right where he should, so whew! he's normal!! =) he's crawling, pulling up on furniture, cruising around furniture, babbles constantly and has four teeth. He actually got teeth pretty early...i stopped breastfeeding after he bit me...damn that hurt like hell!! i still pump and bottlefeed him breastmilk, but now that he's older, it's much less than it used to be. He's eating all sorts of fun pureed foods now...we tend to buy the Earth's Best stuff, but Gerber is good too. heck..whatever's on sale!
~Work has been busy, but good. we had our 6th Annual Raffle...sales were really low, which was kind of expected with the economy the way it is. i mean, when people are losing their jobs and stuff, it's hard to ask them to donate money when it's taking everything just to put food on the tables and gas in the tanks. It just sucks big time because our goal was to sell 9000 raffle tickets, and even with lower ticket prizes and an all cash prize drawing, we only got to 7599. i really hope we're able to turn it around next year...it's such a great fundraiser and it helps us keep a lot of programs in the schools.
~Greg's work has been good...some weeks are better than others, but he's still happy where he works and everything.
~um...got a new car in April...although had i known they were gonna do this whole cash for clunkers thing.... grrrrrr.
Hobbes (my Saturn) was on his last legs and on march 31st, before the taxes and everything went up, we went into the Nissan dealership and bought my Rogue. For all you hockey fans out there...we are big LA Kings fans, and so my car's name is Rogue-y Vacchion...after the famous player from back in the day =) i love my car...and it really makes getting Tristan in and out of the back seat SO much easier! Gets better mileage than my Saturn too!
~My niece turns one this coming Monday! it's so crazy!! last year, Cindy and i were both just pregnant in-laws...talking about how we couldn't wait for them to get here...and now Olivia is turning one and already walking...and Tristan is a mere 10 weeks behind her! crazy!!
Well, i guess that's all on the update side for now...leave me comments if there's anything you want to know about the past 5 months... =)
Hope everyone's doing well out there!! Pics soon! =)
oh! if you're on Facebook...go add me ~Cheryl Van Camp~ i'm on that most of the time now...and there's LOTS of pics on my page! =)
ooh...perfect timing...he just got up from his nap...
