The weather was GORGEOUS today! After the kids got out of school we came home and played catch. Michael literally kept his eye on the ball and has a bit of a black eye. It will go well with his freshly shaved lip and chin. He was taking a bath after dinner and called us in there because he was bleeding. He tried to tell us that the razor fell and cut him.

We did get to go for a short bike ride today. It was lovely! Would have been nice if Bryan would have joined us but his back tire was flat. He picked up a nail somewhere.

Book club was this morning. I love book club. I really hate that it's in the mornings though. Hopefully the next book we read we'll do in the evening.

I finished my Choice Theory training on Saturday. I'm SO glad that's over! I really enjoyed it but I hated being the only parent there. I think I would have gotten more out of it if there had been others. I really hated the last day though. It was mostly role playing and I HATE role playing! I would like to take the next series of training but it's even more role playing and I dont think I will until there are other parents that are going to take it too.

A family at school was deported this week. :( Such a sad, sad day. It was awful! They are from Canada and have been here for at least 7 or 8 years. Their visa expired because they hired a crappy attorney that screwed them over. It could be up to 15 months before they can come back. In the meantime they had to pack up what little they could take with them and drive back to Calgary leaving their house and most of their belongings here. Several people wrote letters to the senator asking him to expedite their paperwork but no such luck.

Jacob is going to be 2 on Friday! How the heck did that happen?! I cant believe it! We're having a party for him on Saturday at Mom's. It's a Dr. Seuss theme. I'm very excited about it. It should be lots of fun. Aimee made a hat pinata and I'm finally going to attempt a topsy turvy cake. I'm a bit nervous about it. Dad bought me some new pans so I think I'm going to buy some fondant and give that a try too.

Papa came home a little over a week ago. He's doing pretty well. He sleeps a lot more than he used to but his leg is on its way to healing. Someone needs to be there around the clock with him so Mom's working the bare minimum hours and has either her brothers or sister or someone else come sit with Papa while she's gone.

Aimee has been making me very angry. Twice in one week she's had something nasty to say about Michael. First it was when we were getting in the car and neither of her kids wanted to sit by him. She turns to him and says "Nobody wants to sit by you, that should tell you something" and then Friday she tells me her son wants Matthew to come to his birthday party but not Michael because he's too obnoxious. I was appalled by that last one! I turned around and walked away and was in tears before I even reached my car. Needless to say she's not one of my favorite people right now. Her son's party is next weekend and I've decided to take Michael skating with Connor. Cathy said she's not expecting to be invited to Anthony's party so she'll come too. Pauline said she's not sending her girls because her daughter had an all girl party and Anthony should be able to have all boys so she's coming skating too. I sort of feel bad that everyone is coming skating with me and not going to Anthony's party but. . . oh well. That's their choice.

There was something else I wanted to update about but now I cant remember. . . Hmmmmmm. . .

The boys did outstanding in school! Matthew has all As and Bs. I'm mad about the B in math because it's only from him not turning his work in. Michael has perfect marks in all but writing and has a couple behavior things checked off. He talks when he shouldnt which disrupts others and keeps him from getting his work done. He KNOWS the material but is always too busy helping someone else with their work before he does his own. His reading has all improved drastically again which is fantastic. She said she thinks that's why he's having trouble writing, because there is so much floating around in his head that he has trouble getting it to his paper. I'm very proud of both boys. :)
