Valentine's Day parties were lots of fun yesterday. I was so happy to be able to go to both Matthew & Michael's classrooms this time. Michael's was in the morning and I did conversation heart bingo. There were plenty of crafts for them to do. Aimee was helping with one that Michael went to. He told her he's making this Valentine for his brother Jacob because he doesnt think Jacob knows how much he loves him. Awwww! How sweet! Earlier he gave a stern talking to to another boy in class that said he was going to make a Valentine for himself. Michael said "You cant just keep things for yourself! That's not what Valentine's Day is about, it's about sharing and giving things to your friends and family!" I told him that was a very rude thing to say but the mom of the boy he was talking to said Michael was absolutely right. lol

Burger King benefit night was last night. We always have a good time there. Michael stayed the night at Tony's again so he didnt come with us. I talked with one of the Canadian families from our school. Her husband is finishing up his residency and they were trying to move out west to be closer to family (Alberta/Nevada) but if he takes a job with anything other than a non-profit hospital (he's a podiatrist) they will have to go 3 months without income because that's not the type of visa they have. How crazy! They have decided to stay here and he's looking for a job with one of the teaching hospitals in the area. There's another Canadian family here that is facing at deportation. They've been working on becoming citizens for a while now and they keep getting different stories from immigration and long story short they've filed more paperwork and it's now in the hands of a judge. The whole thing just boggles my mind!

Dad called and asked if I wanted to work today. I told him no, I have plans with the boys. He said ok and I thought that was way too easy but hey maybe he's not going to have huge fits each time I dont come to work. Cool. Ha! The next thing he said was I have to work on Sunday. I told him no, it's Valentine's Day and I have dinner plans. He said that's ok, we'll be home by then. There are two HUGE grocery stores that he scheduled. They are in Ypsilanti and the second doesnt start until 11am. I'm not going to make it home by 4pm! This is exactly why I didnt want to go back to work! :( I'm making dinner for Cathy & Pauline because their husbands are going to be out of town and I didnt want them to be alone. I was planning to make steak and baked potatoes but instead I'll be working all damn day. I'm so mad! Now I have to figure out how to prep it all the night before and they will have to take care of getting it in the oven, etc.

Bryan did our taxes and we should be getting our refund this weekend. I will be so happy to pay off the credit cards! I'm even happier that there is a decent amount leftover after that. There are a couple things I want to buy but one I'm not too sure of. I'm definitely buying a new bike. I was so sad not to be able to ride mine much this summer. There's something wrong with the back tire. I thought about having it looked at but it's pretty old and I think it will be easier to replace it. We've talked about buying bunk beds for the boys with a trundle for Jacob. He might like sleeping in a big boy bed rather than his crib. Not too sure on that one. I guess I should see if the trundle we have can be used with any bunk, that would save some money. The problem with this is I hate to get rid of something that's not broken! There's nothing wrong with Matthew's bed. But again, Jacob will need a place to sleep so . . . I just have to find someone to give it to. I cant just throw it out. The other thing I'm unsure of is a new kitchen table. First concern is the price. I found one that I love, it's tall, not any wider than our current one and has EIGHT chairs! I love it! But, it's $687 and I just think that's too much. What do you think? And again, there's nothing wrong with our table. My Mom gave this one too us and I like it but we do need new chairs. So I dont know. . .

Papa is still at the hospital. They dont like the way his leg looks and want to do another surgery. He'll be there for a few days then go back to the nursing home. I dont like that.

I better go get dressed. Everyone else is ready to go but me! I'm taking the boys to Cathy's house this afternoon but first I want to go show Bryan this table. I think maybe we need to take a ride out to Ikea next week when the kids go back to school. I've never been there but I hear they have really good prices so I think it would be worth it to look before buying anything.
