Readings in Jeremiah # 6
Readings: Jeremiah 40-43
Beg the LORD your God to show us what to do and where to go. --- Jeremiah 42:3 (NLT)
How often do I pray this for myself? Usually only when I do not have any direction for my life (example: career), or when giving a Bible study, or whe I am talking to someone about God or the Bible, etc. I do not pray this for myself as often as I should. I should pray this atleast once a week, maybe even once a day. I should be praying this in just about every situation.
However, how many times when I do pray this do I have the response that the Judean's had in verse 5 and 6...
5Then they said to Jeremiah, "May the LORD your God be a faithful witness against us if we refuse to obey whatever he tells us to do! 6Whether we like it or not, we will obey the LORD our God to whom we send you with our plea. For if we obey him, everything will turn out well for us." --- Jeremiah 42:5 & 6 (NLT)
Also, when I pray this I need to be sincere and genuine about it.
