well, it has happened. i got into my first car accident yesterday and smashed up the truck. it's not terrible, i was the only car invovled, i hydroplaned, did a 360 and slammed the driver's side bed of my truck into a pole. the first thought that went through my head was sorry God but i won't make morning mass tommorrow. i didn't immediately go into hysterics, as i tried to explain to my father what had happened over the phone. he told me later that i was rambling and in no condition to drive if the vehicle was drivable. so he told me to stay put (yeah that was going to happen) so for the next 30- 45 minutes i paced up and down the sidewalk trying to keep myself busy. oh physically i am fine. a little shakened and don't know when i will get behind the wheel again, but that's it. i smashed up a stainless steel rim and bent the steel lining of the truck, and maybe bent the rear axle a little. oh and i tweaked the CD changer that was behind the back passenger seat so that CD won't eject. but other than that, everything is fine. i called someone that shouldn't have but at least he kept me calm until my parents got there. i didn't start the hysterics part of the accident until i saw them pull up. i have come to the conclusion that this is not my week, but hey i realized that tommorrow is Christmas Eve and my nephew is going to be 6 months old! i am excited. but i have to pay $600 to fix this vehicle and oh well. such as life.
