Christmas has gone and was pretty great.
First off, it was not only a white Christmas, but snowed Christmas Eve and Day. We average that spectacle once every 11 years, and actually getting it to snow on those days is extremely rare. My dad put the lights up on Christmas Eve after I verbally attacked him the night before of how pathetic our house looks and how I hadn't even SHOPPED since it didn't feel anywhere near Christmas. They're half-assed but I appreciate them.
On Christmas Eve I woke up way later than I wanted and floored it to Petsmart to buy Chewie a lot of chew toys so he could trim his teeth down. He likes some of them, thankfully. Before I left my dad kind of chewed me out about me only getting my mom a hand held game that wasn't very expensive and I unfortunately came to the conclusion that he was right. I had only spent 10 bucks on his gift, so I had to run next door to Best Buy and bought them an iTunes gift card (mom) and bland Cds/DVDs (dad). I went all out!!
Christmas Day and presents ahoy! I got a ton of clothes, hats and gloves. Okay, now the good stuff... first, I got black-out curtains, the one thing I really wanted. They're great and work! Oh, last year I asked for a Zhu Zhu pet only because they were super hard to get and somehow my mom remembered this year and GOT ME ONE! She got me a skunk (that I only found out was a skunk today) because it looks like Chewie -- a little. Those things are so cute!!!! Then I got a PS3 and Fifa 11 (I told her I'd end up buying it anyway after Christmas since she was against me "hibernating in my room playing video games" ... it pays to be an only child, people!) Got a bunch of little stuff, like loads of gift cards to various food places and lotto tickets -- which none of us have scratched off yet! Me and my cousins got ugly Christmas sweaters... they're just awful. But my mom and aunt did MAKE them, so that's impressive.
Here:
The AFC (Asian Cup) starts soon -- Japan plays January 9th vs. Jordan. It's a Sunday and I CAN WATCH!! It's a bummer Tanaka is injured and won't play, and Okubo isn't even on the list, but Honda's there along with Kawashima and Kagawa. I think they'll go far. Can't wait!
