It's been a very wacky, busy weekend.
We had three concerts; Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Friday was Tim McGraw where I worked in the trench out in the lawn. Not a lot happened, found pot that a guy had but he hid it away and started berating me with my minimum wage job. Hey, earlier in the evening you were asking how to get this job. Not to mention I have another job that I was able to get after graduating from COLLEGE. I screamed all of this to him. Chris (one of our guys) had to break up this "fight." Country blows, so it was not very fun.
Saturday... holy goodness. It was the Bamboozle tour with way too many bands. I worked the main stage behind the barricade (catching crowd surfers. I'm normally a "backer" which means I hold on to the guys who are literally catching thrown people from the audience) and so I was at the stage. Like, I rested my head on the stage most of the night. Our bands were: All Time Low, Boys Like Girls, Good Charlotte, LMFAO, Third Eye Blind and some other band that I'm forgetting. THIRD EYE BLIND PEOPLE!!!! I grew up listening to their music. It was awesome to see them perform and watch the Madden brothers (Joel and Ben) sing along to the songs as I did. All Time Low is a dangerous band for people that hold my job. They can verbally attack the workers and apparently it's caused big problems in other venues. I threatened to jump on stage and attack them with my fist. Actually, the whole pit agreed upon that suggestion (can you imagine the PRESS? And the people wanting to see the psychotic pit people?!) but they only joked with the audience about having mace to spray us. Shit was thrown out all night, which usually happens at every show. Most stuff made it to the audience, but my front row made up of girls cannot catch and dropped a lot. I got a Boys Like Girls guitar pick, Good Charlotte's set-list and LMFAO's bracelet.
BACKSTAGE -- since my mom works back there I went to just sit with her after the show where I ran into pretty much every band but Good Charlotte and Third Eye Blind. Everyone was really nice (and HOTTT because everyone was showering and would come out in towels... omg!) and All Time Low left a crapload of stuff in their dressing room. I said something to one of their guys as he was leaving, he said "it's all yours." Me, my mom, the other worker backstage and a maintenance girl embarked on an adventure. I got a guitar pick, stuffed bear, shirt one of the guys wore on stage, a candle, a JUSTIN BEIBER BRACELET (omg fucking hysterical) and a signed poster by 2 of the 3 guys. Neat-o gang!
And last night was ABBA. Er, two members of ABBA with the Pops. Very good. I worked staff gate earlier that morning, so I decided I wanted to stay there (Bamboozle was an all day show. I got there at 9 and went home around midnight) and my back and neck are as painful as they were a week ago. NOT GOOD. So sitting and doing nothing sounded great. I had brought along a tennis ball to help massage my back and I started tossing with the wall around 8. Didn't stop until the concert was over AT 9:50. EARLIEST ENDING EVER!!!! I also danced with my cousin who was stacking liquor boxes to take back to the storage and tossed the ball with a guy who worked in the Skyline/LaRosa's booth. They didn't play my favorite song though, Like an Angel.
Now we sit with a very sore neck and back. Tomorrow is the Moody Blues. My teacher had mentioned going to it but I haven't heard from her so I'm assuming she isn't coming. Wednesday is Jeff Beck (I don't have a clue, people who are like, 60 know him). Saturday is 311. Work is getting super busy -- good thing! I'm getting bored after soccer is over for the day. GO USA!!!!!!!!! IKU NIPPON!!!!!!!!!
