Dear World-
On Sunday I am actually going to Europe. I know, it surprises me too- I practically never follow through on the things I intend to do. But in a week I will be in Paris, in two weeks in Nuremberg, in three in Krakow, in four in Prague... after that I don't even know where I'll be, though hopefully not destitute and/or dead.
I can't much conceptualize how this will be, except very different from the two weeks I've just spent lounging about my parents' house, sleeping, reading, and doing remarkably little else. The part of me that likes to drink coffee from the same mug every morning, that stubbornly prefers one particular couch at the library and one particular elliptical at the gym, is a little timorous at the prospect of all this adventure. But the rest of me is really quite excited. We do sometimes do the things we want to do, Hemingway. We do.
Anyways, I'll be chronicling my daily wanderings, which I may put up on lj. (Dependent on both internet access and personal whim, probably.) Ignore it if you like. BUT if you would like postcards, please remind me of your address before I leave, because I am disorganized/dumb. I would also, of course, love any advising on what to see or do, as right now I am entrusting my guidebook with Alot of responsibility for keeping me safe and well entertained. Which should be fine. (it has an honest face.)
Love,
Tara
P.S. No, I don't know what I'm doing after I return, or with the rest of my life, so don't bother asking. :-) I will think about that tomorrow.
