The perfect banana is when it has just a few tiny brown spots on it, and all the green is gone, and it is a bright happy yellow. Yep. They are so yummy.
well I'm just saying. and as long as we are on the subject of bananas I think there needs to be a mention of the bananas that got stolen off our porch at DYC. may they rest in peace...or someone's stomach acid...well I guess by now....oh you get the picture, someone stole Beth's bananas and it totally wasn't cool!
If they have quite a bit of green on the top, then they have almost a crunchy flavor... Me no like crunchy bananas. Me like perfect, not too soft, not to hard bananas. Mmmmmmmmm, good!
I like bananas that are perfectly yellow, no spots, no green except for 1 or 2 lines. Cabana bananas are good too.
If you have really super bright green bananas that you want to yellow up, stick an apple next to it or in a bag w/it. Apples have HUGE amounts of ethelene that make all fruits/veggies/flowers age extra fast.
hehe, ya, squishy bananas just give me the ol' gag reflex....i dont know why, but I like bananas a little green ;-) I'm doing alright, lace, things are winding down for spring break....thank God......I really need some downtime if you know what i mean.....
