Schools out.....today was just a half day because we got out for Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving is probably one of my most favorite times of the year, besides Christmas. The Ovenells, the Fikes, the Eichlers and my family all get together at somebody's house and we chill and eat and take a break from life. It is so much fun. So, I'm excited.
I recently went and visited some colleges in California. I went this last weekend. I flew all by myself for the first time in my life! Man, it was great! My dad was already down in Anaheim for some business, so he met me there. I saw Westmont, which is in the gorgeous city of Santa Barbara, and Biola, which is near L.A. The main purpose for going there was to try out for their soccer teams, which I did. Very interesting. I liked the Westmont coaches, and the players were nice, but Biola is what really strck me as a school I could go to in Cal. The coaches were amazing, God-loving people and not to mention, I did very well in my tryout with the goalie coach. But the main thing I got from the coach, was, that God really does have something amazing planned for my life. Even though I don't know exacly what that could be, I really have to open my heart and my mind to all the possibilities He has in store for me.
Thinking about all of that......it kind of freaks me out a little bit. I wish I wasn't such a wussy Christian sometimes! Trust is difficult.....but I don't know why! I talk to God so, so much, that you'd think I got the whole trusting what God has planned for me down thing, but I struggle. Man.....
Has anyone ever heard of Eva Cassidy? She's a singer. She sings really beautiful and she sings this rendition of Over the Rainbow and I'm going to do it for Pops Concert with Kevin and Brian playing the guitar for me. I'm excited. I think that I want to do singing stuff in college. Yep, pretty sure I do because I like it so very much. I wish I could sing REALLY good, then it was be a little better, but I have fun with it no matter what, so that's OK. My mom and dad arranged voice lessons for me with Leslie MeCuwen(sp?) and I'm going to be a part of a indoor soccer team. So, that will be fun.
Well, I'm done for now. Happy Turkey and Potatoe Day to everone. Peace.
